Looks like I'll be going to the Information On Demand (IOD) Conference in Las Vegas next week. (I'm substituting for an Associate Partner who had a last-minute conflict.) Anyone else in the Oracle blogosphere attending?
The variety of tracks/sessions is huge. I'll probably gravitate towards the Data Quality, Data Profiling, and Master Data Management sessions in the technical track, but you never know what'll catch my eye. There's a couple sessions in the business-side track that look interesting too -- one by Fifth Third Bank looks pretty good (not a big surprise: I'm always interested in retail banking topics)
I'll try to post a quick conference review each day.
I also still owe this blog a discussion of data profiling. Studying for the Information Analyzer (formerly known as ProfileStage) exam took more of my time than expected. The time spent was worthwhile, since I did pass.
Tip for anyone considering the exam: Note that the official "Test Preparation" recommendations includes taking an AuditStage class -- whether you take the class is up to you, but you will definitely need some understanding of the topic for this exam.
